Good News Abounds! (finally!)

First and foremost is the birth of Brody Elijah McRae, born to my nephew, John and his adorable wife, Lisa! This little guy weighed in at 9 pounds 12 ounces! I am told his footprint extended off the paper! Hmmmmmmmmmm.......what does that mean? Little Brody is joining his big sister Ella and will grow up and carry on the McRae name! That's a big job and we McRaes are counting on him! Here is a picture of him moments after birth....smiling already!


Next on the good news report is the fact that there is the possibility that the first shot is taking effect! My back is much much better. I am still going to have another shot next week but I am FINALLY encouraged and can see some light at the end of the tunnel!

This past week was especially fun as we had our good high school friends here visiting. It's always fun when old friends seem to pick up where they left off and feel so comfortable with one another! We ate to excess with everyone pitching in and even endulged in fresh strawberry shortcake after Charlie and Sara Christine brought back 2 flats from the Strawberry Festival in Plant City! As a result, Keith and I made 12 pints of freezer jam today! YUMMY!!!!!!!! We visited Kathie and her Mom in Venice, did a little local sightseeing, visited the beautiful west coast beach, ate grouper sandwiches at Frenchy's, hit an estate sale or two and wound up getting a few real bargains....I hope Linda refinishes that trestle table she bought for $3.00!!!! what a deal!

Well, that about takes me up to date. Our Selma friends arrive on Wednesday and more fun on the horizon!
