Good Days and Bad

Wish I had some really good news to report but the happiest recent days have been the result of "happy mail". I love it when the mailman comes bearing gifts. This past week was highlighted by the receipt of my Christmas box from Paula.......she had been telling me for 10 days how much I was going to love it and she was right! When I opened it, I just stood there and laughed. She sent me 3 large bags of Mango Gummies! I know this isn't exciting to those of you who haven't experienced them but I became addicted and then had to go to therapy when our source dried up! XOXOXOX buddy! And well, of course there were lots of other goodies in the box....Alison Tyler Jones' new photography book, "it's happy bunny Life. Get One.", a must read for everyone and especially timely for me in my recent funk!, a couple of really cool containers to keep my yarn in and untangled while knitting and a super new Noni pattern. I have probably forgotten something but I just loved everything in there....especially those gummies! Mango has become my favorite flavor.......ever had a mango smoothie from Dunkin Donuts? addictive is all I can say! Makes a great lunch!

I also received an e-bay win which was a vintage camisole that turned out to be even more gorgeous than pictured....good thing too cause it was a little spennie. My buddy Linda in Ohio sent me a box and threw in some of her own stash to cheer me up (and I haven't even met this girl! Can't wait for that to happen........soon, I hope! ) This week should be equally good as I know a couple of e-bay items should be here.

Once again the blog gobbled up my last couple of paragraphs!

I 'was' sharing about the piece of art, a watercolor, that Lyn gave me for my birthday in 2000. I had taken it down during the holidays and while reconstructing the house, I found it and decided it needed a reframing job. It is entitled "True Friends Share One Heart" and pictures two angels holding a heart....little did I know my dear Lyn would be an angel so soon. I have had a really hard time this week but wanted to share this piece ... it hangs in our shabby chic guest room where hopefully many of you will stay when you visit!

Dropping my cell phone in the toliet only added to my misery this week. Here is story. I was NOT sitting and talking on the phone! I was picking up the broken glass from the votive candle that I knocked off the back of the tank and the cell phone slid out of my vest pocket and into the toliet! I know alot of you have done the same thing but what a royal pain this is! My phone did not have a sim card...no retreiving my phone numbers so please send them to me! I also had to go to the Toyota dealership and have the Blue Tooth sync'd with the car...another nightmare that I am not going into. Oh, by the way, I have named the car "Honey", the Hybrid. Thanks to all of you that contributed names.

Health report or lack thereof: I will give you the cliff notes. Last week I had x-rays of both my wrist and back, MRI of the back, post-op endoscopy and doctor visits to go with all the tests. Results: wrist diagnosis: de Quervains Tenosynovitis, back x-rays: fine, MRI: unknown at this time, endoscopy - A-OK. Hopefully this week I will get some form of treatment from the back doctor.

So much for those not-so-FUN things............Yesterday was FUN! Sally and I went to Mt. Dora's Antique Extravaganza for the day. The pickings were not nearly as good as in November but it was a beautiful day and we did buy just enough treasures to keep us happy. And Honey got 37.5 mpg!!!!!!!!!!! whoo hoo! Gotta love Hybrids!

Geez Dottie! Phone in toilet...you are starting to sound like one of MY kids! With the week you had I'm sure glad there was happy mail (and gummies) to make it all better.
