Weeks later......amazing

Well, it is now October and fall is hinting at arriving here in Florida. We are all soooooooo ready!!!!! Yikes, what have I been doing the last couple of weeks? I don't think I mentioned this really great gal I met in Greenville at the show......Dawn is my link to lace!! She bought out a factory and so generously took me to her car and shared what she had with her with me.....along with this really cool idea for Christmas ornaments made from all the little "snippets" or as she calls them "giblets". Well, I have been trying my hand at these little creations while I wait for her sample to come in the mail along with all the samples of her lace. I can't wait for the mail every day in anticipation of her package. Here are a couple of my little creations. I don't know what I am going to do with them.....maybe some of you might see them amongst your Christmas pressies or I might sell a few and I am definitely going to include making them in my "purse-onality" class that is coming up in November. I am teaching at Rainbows End on November 5th and teaching the Christmas Ornaments at Wilde Ideas http://www.wilde-ideas.com/Docs/Promos/Classes/Schedule.html on October 28th.

This weekend was the estate sale of all time!!!!! It was held in a warehouse and it was packed full of goodies....one whole room was devoted to lace and craft items....I was in heaven! This sale is going on all week and so far I have been there 3 out of 4 days! Here is what I have bought so far....a gorgeous Chenille quilt.....come visit, it will be on your bed, a double wedding ring quilt ($5) to cut up, over 300 handkerchiefs, linens, lace trims, Christmas ornaments, old keys and key plates (can't spell eschueons), lots of little bottles, vintage gift cards, chandelier crystals......blah, blah, blah.......one of these days, I will have to post pictures of all my treasures.

Well, tomorrow I have to go to "work". Have I mentioned the fact that I volunteer at the Hospice Thrift Shop twice a week? Anyway, I love it and I often find bargains for my art that I just can't resist. Right now I am working on finding Halloween costumes for my grandkids. Jessica wants to go as a victorian girl and ryan as a gangster.....here is Jessica in her costume.....though it doesn't have the real hat or all the finishing touches to it yet. I am working on those. Ok....glitch...I can't seem to insert the picture. I will post it when I have both kids dressed up.
